AMETHYST (BRAZIL) – SUGARLOAF CABOCHON 8.07 CT. CUSHION

This rectangular cushion sugarloaf-cut amethyst is nearly loupe clean. It weighs over 8 carats and measures approx.12.7 x 10.9 x 7.7 mm. It has a medium pink-purple hue and does interesting things with light, brightening with a moving internal glow as reflections play inside it. It has a “wet look” polish on all surfaces. Some accompanying images show distinct color zoning but this effect is due to camera magnification and isn't easily seen when the stone is in the hand. February birthstone. (All uses, N)
